PROVISIONAL LICENSED PROFESSIONAL COUNSELOR (PLPC)
60 semester hour graduate degree the substance of which is professional mental health counseling from a regionally-accredited university
PROVISIONAL LICENSED MARRIAGE AND FAMILY THERAPIST (PLMFT)
COAMFTE approved graduate degree program or 60 semester hour approved graduate degree program in marriage and family therapy/counseling or a related clinical mental health field from a regionally-accredited education institution.
LICENSED PROFESSIONAL COUNSELOR (LPC)
60 semester hour graduate degree the substance of which is professional mental health counseling from a regionally-accredited university.
Document a minimum of 3,000 hours of post-masters supervised experience in professional mental health counseling under the clinical supervision of a Board-Approved Supervisor including a minimum of 1,900 direct client contact hours, a minimum of 1,000 indirect client contact hours, and a minimum of 100 face-to-face supervision hours. Post-masters supervised experience should occur over a period of no less than two years and not more than six years from the original date such supervision was approved.
Passing the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
LICENSED PROFESSIONAL COUNSELOR SUPERVISOR (LPC‑S)
Hold a current license as a LPC and have a minimum of 3 years post licensure experience in mental health counseling
Documentation of Training in Supervision
Letter verifying practice
LICENSED MARRIAGE AND FAMILY THERAPIST (LMFT)
COAMFTE approved graduate degree program or 60 semester hour graduate degree in marriage and family therapy/counseling or a related clinical mental health field from a regionally-accredited educational institution.
Document a minimum of 3000 hours of post-masters supervised experience in marriage and family therapy under the clinical supervision of a Board-Approved Supervisor including a minimum of 2000 direct client contact hours, a minimum of 1000 indirect client contact hours, and a minimum of 200 face-to-face supervision hours. Post-masters supervised experience should occur over a period of no less than two years and not more than six years from the original date such supervision was approved.
Passing the National Marriage and Family Therapy Examination
LICENSED MARRIAGE AND FAMILY THERAPIST SUPERVISOR (LMFT‑S)
Hold a current license as a LMFT and have a minimum of 2 years post licensure experience as a marriage and family therapist
Documentation of Training in Marriage and Family Therapy Supervision
Verification of 36 hours of supervision-of-supervision or verification of designation as an AAMFT Board-Approved Supervisor
LICENSED MARRIAGE AND FAMILY THERAPIST SUPERVISOR Candidate (LMFT‑SC)
Hold a current license as a LMFT and have a minimum of 2 years post licensure experience as a marriage and family therapist
Documentation of Training in Marriage and Family Therapy Supervision
