LPC Board Update
The LPC Board Update at the Louisiana Counseling Association conference will be
held on Tuesday, October 4, 2005, at 1:45 - 3:00 o'clock. To assist us in
preparing for this forum, we welcome questions and topics for discussion from
you. If
you have questions or topics regarding licensure as an LPC or LMFT that you
would like to suggest for the forum, please either e-mail them to the board at <
lpcboard@eatel.net> (in the
subject line please put "LPC Board Update") or
mail them to the board at 8631 Summa AV, Baton Rouge LA 70809. The deadline for
submission is September 1, 2005. (Note: Questions should be of a general nature
regarding board policies and procedures rather than regarding a specific
circumstance.)

ADDRESS CHANGES FOR: LPC/COUNSELOR INTERNS/LMFT/MFT INTERNS
Notify the Board in writing of your change of address. Be sure to let us know what address you wish to use for correspondence and what address you wish to use for the website. There is a rule which gives you 30 days to notify the Board of any and all changes in name, address, and phone number. Failure to comply with this rule will result in a $50.00 fine. It is very important that the Board have a current address for all of their licensees especially at renewal time.. Please help us by sending in your changes. Renewals
The 2005 LPC renewal period is coming to an end on June 30, 2005. Renewal letters and applications were mailed out in April 2005. If you have not received your letter and application yet, you may access them online at www.lpcboard.org. For those of you who have not renewed yet, we will be sending out a reminder letter the second week of June.
To complete the renewal process please complete the renewal form and attach to it any required documentation. You only need to fill out the front page on the renewal form if you did not receive an orange audit slip. If you received an orange audit slip, please complete the back of the form and submit materials verifying your continuing education activities (e.g. certificates, transcripts, letters). As soon as your application is processed, you will receive a renewal card stating your next expiration date of June 30, 2007. If all materials are not received in the Board office postmarked by June 30, 2005, your license will become inactive. All renewal applications postmarked after this date will be assessed a $50.00 late fee. Any application assessed a late fee will be required to include documentation of continuing education. If you have any questions regarding the renewal process, please contact the Board office.

DISCIPLINE REPORT
Ten complaints filed in FY 02/03, five remain under investigation.
Eleven complaints have been filed in FY 03/04. Four remain under investigation.
Ten complaints have been filed on FY 04/05. Nine remain under investigation
An injunction was obtained on March 14, 2005, in the 21st Judicial District in Livingston Parish restraining, enjoining, and prohibiting Teresita H. Rowe from practicing as an LPC or holding herself out to the public as on LPC.
Sheryl Betts approved for LMFT license on probation for two years for violation of RS 37:§1110(3).
Kenneth Foy approved for LMFT license on probation for two years for violation of RS 37:§1110A(1).
